We’re bringing together the community with guest speakers, workshops, activities and displays all based on living in a lighter way. There’s so much on, check out our separate event listings for the Repair Café, Re-Creators workshop and the Catherine Foster talk.
The afternoon kicks off with an EcoMatters presentation on Healthy Homes at 12.30pm in the Library: Sustainability Advisors share budget-friendly tips and inspiration to help make homes healthier, more comfortable and drier.
Travel – the E-Bike team are here with bikes to try and answers to all your questions, plus EcoMatters Bike Hub team are visiting to do simple repairs on the day and give maintenance tips.
Kid’s toys – the West Auckland Toy Library are visiting (and accepting donations of outgrown toys).
Treat yourself to some ethical and sustainable products – White Cloud skincare produce pure, local (and refillable) products; or make a pair of re:bicycled earrings with re:purpose ($5 to cover materials). The West Auckland Woodturners are demonstrating the lathe and selling unique items made from recycled native timbers.
Our local conservation heroes will also be in attendance for a chat and info including Ark in the Park, STNN, and Arataki Visitor Centre.
Have your say – the Community Climate Action team members are talking to Waitākere Ranges locals about their priorities for climate action to develop a local plan.
There are activities for the kids too with a Library scavenger hunt and colouring activities.
